The Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness (WVCW) was founded in 1995 and is a full service outpatient clinic that focuses on the mental health and other life enrichment needs of the citizens of Wallowa County. Programs focus on people with mental and emotional disturbances, those with severe and persistent mental illness, those suffering from addiction, drug, and alcohol abuse issues, gambling addiction, and individuals with developmental disabilities.

Next Steps

  • If you decide you would like to come in for some counseling services you can either call our office directly at 541-426-4524 and speak to a counselor who will do a short screening, or contact your primary care doctor and they will send us a referral. Once we get the referral we will call and do a short screening.
  • After a short screening we will assign a counselor to see you and our staff will call you and get you scheduled.
  • You will be asked to complete some paperwork which helps us get to know how you are doing.
  • Most insurance covers counseling services but if you don’t have insurance we will work with you and figure out how you can still receive counseling services.
  • Normally during the first appointment a counselor will do an assessment with you and learn more about what you would like help with. Together you will come up with a plan that helps you reach your goal(s). You are welcome to bring family member(s) if that would be helpful to you.
Integration

We are currently developing an integrated model for Wallowa County that will provide recently enhanced collaboration between mental health/drug and addiction services and primary health care. As part of this move toward integration, we now occupy space in the new Medical Office Building and are colocated with a local primary care clinic. We have three therapists who have been trained as Behavioral Health Coaches and are working as an integrated team with primary care.

It is believed that this approach will provide much better health outcomes for people.
